Araneus diadematus, a Cross Orbweaver. I like your unique observation. This GAL has recently oviposited her eggs into an egg sac. Her stretched-out abdomen is small again and she’s probably feeling light and free and dehydrated. She might be out looking for easy prey and something to drink. ASAP!

In America, this is called the cross orb weaver. I first came across it in London and there they call it the European garden spider. Araneus diadematus. Nice capture of a female
Thanks, Gents! I found this greatX grandchild (well..within feet of the previous one shown). The story here is that “it”…seems to also be a lady?…”she” appears to have trouble escaping up the old painted garage wall and found only a little solace in grabbing the end of some weed being deposited on her house area until bagging day. She just could not find sufficient holes to pull her body up….or she is pregnant and the extra weight is an issue? I know nothing so that is probably not the case.
