No. It looks like a Yellow Sac Spider in genus Cheiracanthum. They are common, both indoors and out. They might drop down from ceilings sometimes in front of people. I don’t know why. Indoors they’ll leave you alone and go about eating other spiders and whatever they find. They seem to have very short life spans. I let the ones in my house stay where they are.
Thank you!
Should I look for a sac of eggs somewhere? I don’t want a bunch of them!
You’re welcome! I don’t know what the egg sacs look like. I would expect them to be white and located near wall/ceiling junctions. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend any spiders as their predators, the Yellow Sac Spiders eat all of the other spider species in my house. There are sticky strip traps that can be placed at the top of walls in areas you particularly don’t want them. Our moderator recommends using a vacuum hose nozzle to remove unwanted spiders, then emptying the bag outdoors so they don’t climb back out of the vacuum indoors.
