What kind of spider is this? Is it dangerous?

It’s a Triangulate Cobweaver, Steatoda triangulosa. It isn’t dangerous to people nor pets. It is a very capable predator of insects and other spiders. Another common name for this type of spider is a False Widow. Some of the Steatoda spiders can kill Latrodectus genus spiders, the real Widows, plus Brown Recluses. It also can kill house flies, mosquitoes, fruit flies, and ticks if they get the opportunity. It may bite you in self-defense if it is handled roughly. The venom isn’t significant medically.
