I found this spider in a damp basement in south east Michigan

It looks like https://bugguide.net/node/view/7020 Amaurobius ferox, a Black Lace Weaver. I have them in my cellar too. They live in the holes and crevices of the stone foundation. Their web is dark gray and flat, but forms a funnel into the crevice. The spiders wait in the small end of the funnel waiting to feel the vibrations of prey on their webs.
