I have no idea what this spider is, it I found 2 so far one slightly smaller. I live in a basement apartment on Long Island, New York.

Difficult to tell but it looks to be a male member of the Hackle mesh Weaver family (Amaurobiidae). Most likely the Black Lace Weaver (Amaurobius ferox).
