I have no idea what this is. I found it where I keep my cats at night between the inner garage door and the half bathroom. It was in the middle of the floor looking freshly killed. I was afraid it could be a brown recluse but what I thought was a pattern on the abdomen appears to be a split and on the wrong part if the body and I can’t see how many eyes it has. The other qualities seemed really close though. The rest of the body is pretty dark.

I’m pretty such this is a Black Lace Weaver, Amaurobius ferox. They’ll play dead as long as they sense you or your cats are still around. I recently accidentally grabbed two of mine and they held the “dead” pose for a long time while I took the opportunity to take photos. Yours looks like a male (from the swollen pedipalp tips). You won’t see these spiders often because they spend time in the tip of their funnel webs. The tip is usually in a hole or crack. The webs are flat and finely knit and dark gray.
