I didn’t know what it is either. I admit that I “cheated” and used a “computer vision” app, GoogleLens on the photo to get a hint. It works quite well for insects and plants. It said this is an aphid, and yes, this is an aphid. The link I put at the start of this paragraph is a link to images of aphids of New Zealand, family Aphididae. They’re unusual-looking insects.
