Welcome! This is Steatota triangulosa, one of my favorite spiders. They are a species commonly called Cobweavers because they make true cob webs. If you ever wondered what the difference is between a cob web and other spider webs, this spider can show you. Cob Webs are messy, random-looking, clumpy, stringy dust collectors. The interesting part is how such a visible web provides food for the spider. The catch is that it doesn’t look like a clean structured spider web to an insect, just a mess.
