Loxosceles reclusa male
I moved a workbench in my garage today and discovered this specimen between the furniture and the wall, all by his lonesome.
He was slow to react and easily caught. After some internal debate, I carefully displaced it to the fringe of my yard.
Fiddlebacks tend to hatch here in July. Hopefully I will only see them outside my house when that time comes.

Do you see anything else emerging early? The animals are behind schedule here in New Hampshire and the plants are early. It’s weird that everything is blooming and their isn’t any pollinators around. I would have done the same thing with him. I only kill mosquitoes and ticks.
We had a strange after-Easter freeze, which is quite uncommon here. I was worried but my Sage and Irises did ok. Today I saw a few honey bees and rabbits. Robins, Cardinals and Mockingbirds and Mississippi Kites among other birds everywhere. North Canadian Geese are nesting.
Some juvenile wolf spiders about, but no Salticidae yet.
I didn’t know that OK has Cardinals. I didn’t even know that they shouldn’t be in New England until a couple of years ago when I saw flocks of Cardinals and Blue Jays in SC in the Winter. That’s more like where they should be. They are slowly moving north with climate change. Canada Geese don’t migrate much anymore, they don’t need to. Many stay in the NorthEast all Winter because the water doesn’t fully freeze anymore and they can hunt anytime.
I don’t know anything about bird’s, but I see Cardinal’s here in Maine every year.
