I found this near a box I got from Amazon that was shipped from Texas. It was moving really slow. It doesn’t look like anything I’ve seen in Ohio before

Also, it was about 1.5” long and I found it crawling out of my garage when the door was open after I moved the box that had been sitting about 2 weeks.

I never get cool spiders in my Amazon boxes or in my grocery store produce, but I keep hoping! It also looks like a Purseweb Spider. Both live in the soil. It is probably not enjoying the new colder location. Feel free to make it a pet in an indoor terrarium. An exotic animal pet shop might have customers that want unusual pet spiders. Until it has a home it needs hydration. Most spiders will drink water droplets from a hard surface. I’ve seen thirsty spiders drink from clumps of moss after a rainstorm too.
