It might be an Amblygid – class Arachnida, order Amblypygi. Spiders are in order Aranae. There are several interesting forms of arachnids other than spiders and they seem to prefer drier parts of the World.
Looks to be a Pseudoscorpion of the order Pseudoscorpiones.
