Found on a daisy flower in June. Was pretty large, about the size of a quarter.

She was a Goldenrod Crab Spider, Misumena vatia. Female spiders are usually larger than males. The eggs develop within their bodies and they need to be big and strong to wrangle prey. Crab Spiders hunt by ambush attack. That’s why she had her white body on a white flower. Her first two pairs of legs are held wide to be ready to grab any pollinator that lands on the flower.
