He’s a Cellar Spider, probably Pholcus phalangiodes. https://bugguide.net/node/view/9609 It looks different than the ones in my house, but I’m going by statistical odds of it being a different Pholcus species in Texas. They are totally harmless to people and pets. They may kill other spiders in your home though. They’re really good at controlling indoor fruit flies. They will put webs in house plants that have fruit flies in the soil and over bowls of fruit with fruit flies.
