Comments & ID Thoughts

For a few years now, I have occasionally found these spiders in my bedroom (located in a furnished basement) in the warmer months (2-4 a year). Most I have seen out in the open, just in the middle of floor, while the lights are on. One came walking down my wall from the ceiling, possibly from inside a ceiling tile. I've never seen them in a web. I do often have cobwebs in my room, no full webs, but there is a section of the room blocked off for the water heater where there could be webs I don't know about. That said I've never seen these guys in that part of the room.

Their bodies are about an inch long, maybe a little less. They are, at least from what I can tell, pitch black. I really tried to find any markings on this one and I couldn't see any at all (but I didn't check underneath). Their legs are fuzzy, thick, and long, and their pedilaps are very prominent. Their abdomen is big and round. They aren't glossy, but aren't extremely fuzzy either. To my untrained eye they resemble Black House Spiders a little bit but I know those are an Australian species. Please help me out! Sorry I don't have a clearer picture, I am very afraid of spiders.
