Comments & ID Thoughts
Caught site of this spider on the ground floor of my apartment block and thought it looked unusual. It seemed to be eating a much larger spider that was wrapped up in webbing. Sorry for the poor image quality - only had my phone on me and the lighting was poor. Any ideas what it might be?

Looks like Steatoda grossa or Steatoda bipunctata. From this angle I can’t see the pattern on her back, so I can’t tell exactly which.
I think it was steatoda bipunctata in the end. Actually found another a few days later that had drowned in a pan of water in my kitchen and I got a really good look at it.
Great photo. This spider is a great hunter. OMG! There is another hefty spider all wrapped up ON its web….and it is working on a dehydrated fly?
Then another insect on the web. Do spiders eat that much??
