Found this guy on my basement wall. Put him with my huge wolf spider that was twice his size as food, he dug a hole and a couple days later he was sitting on top of the wolf eating it.

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 This is a Wolf Spider (Lycosidae), looks like the intermediate form of Arctosa rubicunda (similar to A. emertoni).

I wonder what the other spider was then…..at least twice the size, Id say a legspan of almost a half dollar, a lot darker, and fuzzier.
