This guy is in my top ten of coolest spiders I have seen in person. It would be nice if I knew who we was.... He is quite small and I had to cup him in my hand after saving him from a tiny web on my side view car mirror just before I hit the highway. He was relocated to my deck where he quickly perched himself on this planter.

Cool! I think he’s Araneus cingulatus. https://bugguide.net/node/view/32328/bgimage The markings are variable, but some of the photos show the black leg hairs. There would be red posterior spots if the photo was at a different angle. I know, it is lucky to get ANY great photos of such a tiny spider. I’m getting quick at whipping out my phone for photos. Saw a Five-tooth Mason Wasp and got a photo today. Never saw one before, they’re shiny black with bright white line markings.
