Good guess Ragno! This is a Brown Widow, Latrodectus geometricus. Their “hourglass” marking is orange and wider than the hourglass on Black Widows. The egg sacs look very different. Brown Widows have white egg sacks that look like they are covered in spikes, Black Widows have a smoother surface on their egg sacks. Smdamd, If you don’t want them on your porch it is most effective to remove them physically (a vacuum with a hose can work). Don’t try “spider repellants.” Pesticides don’t work well on spiders and poison everything and leave a toxin residue. New spiders can take the… Read more »
