I have no idea what kind it is. We live in western Kansas and it was found in the garden with a huge web.

Gosh impressive! I would guess a false widow of some kind.

It’s a genus of spiders with over 100 different species. Structurally, they look similar to Latrodectus, which are the “Widow” group of spiders which have medically significant venom to humans. These ladies’ bites can hurt, but the venom is much less likely to cause us problems
I am still uncertain of your species. Hopefully another user will better verify for us.

I could also be completely off track and it could be a Furrow Weaver…Larinioides cornutus.
