Comments & ID Thoughts
I need ID. I can’t decide if this is a tarantula (doesn’t seem hairy enough) or if it’s a trapdoor spider. It had a body length of approximately 1 inch and leg span of nearly 2 inches.

I am not certain either, but my guess is more towards a Trap Door spider. Ummidia species. Mygalomorphs like this still give me the heebie-jeebies.

I was able to get a positive ID from a FACEBOOK group. It is indeed a Trapdoor spider. Most likely Ummidia audouini. They are a bit on the creepy side with those ginormous fangs! I will say though I coaxed it onto my hand and it was extremely docile and just sat there.
Lol good for you! I’ll let salticidae jump onto my hand but I have not worked my way up to animals like this yet.
