He’s Steatoda triangulosa, a Triangulate Cobweaver. The name refers to the markings on the abdomen that usually look much more like triangles than this. He’s in family Theridiidae, the same family that Widows are in, which gives genus Steatoda the name False Widows. The venom is drastically weaker and not medically significant to mammals. They are quite potent against insects and other spiders. They are very useful spiders to have in a building. They eat a lot of bugs.
