It was probably a Goldenrod Crab Spider, Misumena vatia. They have bright yellow in their eye areas. The second guess is a White-banded Crab Spider. It has a white or red band under the eyes. Both of these species can actually change the colors of their bodies, markings, and legs to attempt to match what they see around them. The White-banded Crab Spider has more of a color range. Those are the two US Crab Spiders most likely to be bright yellow.
I had this same exact one but mine was a really bright fluorescent yellow!! And tiny.
