Araneus diadematus. They are fun to photograph. 🙂 A common name for her is Cross Orbweaver. During daylight she is nearby resting out of sight. They will create a place to rest if they need to. I had one in my yard that I looked for every day to see what she created for a bed. She changed it everyday – under fern fronds, on hydrangea blooms, under a flower bract, wrapped in silk and single or multiple leaves….
