Wow, what a fantastic spider. 🙂 Looks like a Velvet Spider Eresidae/Eresus. I haven’t found a spot-on match for it yet, the closest I see is Eresus solitarius and this looks like it could be something else.

It seems far less common to find the b/w colouration, I’ve only so far found a few (slightly less than reliable) sources, most of which suggest this might be a male? Lets see what some further research uncovers… !
