Looks like a black and yellow garden spider. They weave those zig zags in their web too like the shadow has on the bottom right.

Hello! Thank you for helping with identifications! This is one of two similar species, Argiope trifasciata, a Banded Garden Spider. https://spiderid.com/spider/araneidae/argiope/trifasciata/
Argiope aurantia looks almost the same on the underside. The way I tell their undersides apart is the leg band markings. This species has lots of short black and yellow bands. They are longer on A. aurantia.

Oh, cool! I’m really starting to like and learn a lot about spiders. Thank you!

You’re welcome! There are a lot of strange things that spiders do that aren’t taught in school. I did learn about ballooning, the way spiders can fly for miles, at least. If you aren’t already there soon you’ll find yourself looking for spiders anywhere you go. It’s a handy interest when you get stuck in a boring situation. If you don’t want someone to keep talking to you invite them to look around for spiders with you and walk away. 🙂 It works!

That’s awesome! I had no idea they could fly around…maybe that’s how some of them have gotten on me haha and I’ll try out that method sometime, I’d rather spider hunt without constant talkers
