From the website I believe this is the spider species Argiope aurantia, commonly known as Black and Yellow Garden Spider, that belongs to the genus Argiope, in the family Araneidae. This is currently recorded on this site as seen only in Mexico and the US, although there are a number of other pictures of it (unidentified), also seen in NB, Canada.
