the side of a mailbox. It’s the 1st time seeing it. Thought it was unique!

Argiope trifasciata. Banded Garden Spider, ventral image of a female. This species is awesome to see! Sometimes they’ll make a dramatic show of violently shaking their webs to look big and scary to potential predators. It’s a total bluff, they aren’t dangerous to mammals like us.
