Comments & ID Thoughts
I noticed this spider seemingly trapped in an empty normal sized plastic cereal bowl. I left him alone. Two days later I see it Still in the bowl. It looked malnourished so I sprinkled a few drops of water and it sucked them up. Very thirsty. I am fascinated with spiders. I have created a "recovery house" for him. I will find him food and provide cotton balls soaked with bottled water for him to drink and not drown. Poor thing is obviously weak and scared. I believe it is an adult male Hobo. Mainly due to its inability to climb out of the bowl. If I am correct, Hobo spiders can not climb bare walls, bathtubs, sinks, bowls etc? We have Giant House Spiders here that can easily climb out of a bowl and up walls. I was reading about the Hobo spider and it NOT containing necrotic venom. Hmmm? Interesting. So man up people, put on the pull ups and quit killing spiders, Get a jar and get them outside.
