This looks close to Gnaphosa sericata. I’m not sure if there are any others in the genus in range that may look like this. (Edit: ID based on appearance and range.)

I believe you are spot on. Thanks! I am pleased to read that “At present, no ground spiders are known to be seriously venomous to humans.”, and that this fella is not an endangered species.
