I think this is a Cross Orb Weaver, she was at the top of our kids swing set. When I initially tried to coax her into a bucket she swung away and landed on a swing then excreted fluid from her abdomen. I’ve never seen a spider do that. Is that some sort of defense mechanism in lieu of biting?
