I am pretty sure this is a Noble False Widow, but would appreciate some more experienced confirmation or alternatives.
Looks to me like a False Widow: a male Steatoda bipunctata. I have bred this kind of spider before.
Thanks for helping! We’re all volunteers that run the site. This is Steatoda nobilis. It was introduced into California from Europe. I don’t quite breed False Widows but I give my S. borealis and S, triangulosa plenty of opportunity to reproduce indoors and in an outdoor composter. They eat the tiny moths that come out of the compost. In-turn House Centipedes hunt the outdoor False Widows.
