Comments & ID Thoughts

Not sure, but could it be a four spot orb weaver? I took the picture at the Gropius House in MA.

She may have been Araneus trifolium, a Shamrock Orbweaver. The For Spot isn’t in USA. It is in our photo gallery because we do worldwide identifications with worldwide volunteers. The Shamrock Orbweavers have alternating light and dark leg band markings. The body is fuzzy with usually one color plus white dorsal markings. This is a ventral image, which has less identifying info than a dorsal. I l know it can be difficult to move around an orb web for a photo.
