Not sure, but could it be a four spot orb weaver? I took the picture at the Gropius House in MA.
Araneus trifolium, female. She’s a Shamrock Orbweaver. It confuses some siteusers that the Four Spot is in our photo gallery. We accept and identify worldwide spider photos.
