I believe this is definitely a type of widow spider but not sure it definitely does not look harmless it does look like it is potentially a deadly spider

She definitely isn’t a dangerous spider. She appears to be Steatoda triangulosa, a Triangulate Cobweaver. She looks dangerous because she is in the same family as the Widows. Her venom is different. It isn’t significant to people, but Cobweavers can kill Widows and Brown Recluses (not found in CT) and ticks (found way too much in CT). I spent part of my childhood in the Vernon, CT area. She also will kill flies, roaches, and moths, and mosquitos. She may actually decrease your risk of becoming ill from a bite.
