Probably a yellow and black garden spider
This is probably a Wasp Spider, Argiope bruennichi. They are difficult to tell apart by photo from Banded Garden Spiders, Argiope trifasciata. They seem to have different leg positions – the Wasp Spider curls its legs up more, I think. JonathanV., click on location names to see what the common species are for the area. It helps a lot. Don’t worry about missing some, I’m the most senior active volunteer and I definitely don’t know every spider on Earth. It isn’t even possible. I just do as much as I can. 🙂
