Comments & ID Thoughts
Although this was after i smacked the spider with a shoe, i'm still hoping someone can help me ID it. It was the size of a quarter with outstretched legs. From a layman's perspective this looked like it could be a brown recluse to me, although I'm hoping that it is not, as it crawled out of a black fabric witch decoration I was building out in the garden for Halloween. That is of course after I was making adjustments to the fabric it was hiding in, so I'm feeling nervous that I could have been bitten without noticing it. I didn't feel a bite, but I'm an arachnophobe and it's really creeping me out that I was handling the space this guy was hiding in. It was definitely one of the largest spiders I've been in the area when it was outstretched.
