Spider the size of a nickel or slightly larger. Web built between the bottom of a deck and the stairway railing leading onto the deck. Location is near an outdoor always on light.

Her markings look like Lariniodes cornutus, a Furrow Orbweaver. Many spiders build webs near lights, especially porch lights, to intercept nocturnal insects that are lured to the lights.
