I’m 99% sure that’s a wolf spider, and yes, they can be dangerous to cats and dogs if they EAT it. They should be ok, unless allergic, if bit.
What happens if the Wolf spider is eaten? I haven’t heard about this at all. I never looked it up because my dogs and cats haven’t had any interest in spiders. They eat insects. Most insect move faster and less smoothly which appeals to my pets.
So I guess there’s actually a lot of debate about that, but some vets say it can cause heart failure, kidney failure, disruption of red blood cells, and others say nothing will happen. I suppose it’s kind of like with humans, where being bit by a brown recluse doesn’t do anything to some people and causes necrosis in others.
Thank you!
