I've never seen a spider like this before. Some kids at a school where I worked discovered it and were afraid of it. I convinced them not to kill it. I think it's a Shamrock Spider

She may be Eriophora edax, a relatively rare orbweaver. She’s going to make an egg sac very soon. Thanks for giving the ID a try – that’s how this site got me hooked on spiders in the first place with a mysterious orbweaver I found. Shamrock Orbweavers always have alternating light and dark leg band markings, that’s the easy way to rule them out. Thank you for saving her life!
