This is a tarantula, presumably the California ebony, Aphonopelma eutylenum. This species, along with most other tarantulas, is completely harmless to humans. It is important to mention that all american tarantulas can fling itchy hairs at an attacker, which can cause serious damage if inhaled or lodged in the eyes. Aphonopelma are unlikely to fling these hairs and are beautiful to watch.

This is a False Tarantula in the Calisoga genus of the Nemesiidae family.

Oh, okay. Now that you pointed that out it is blatantly obvious it is not an Aphonopelma.
