Seems like it might be a ground spider?
Gnaphosidae. I saw a couple of pictures of Zelotes that looked very similar.
A little larger than a quarter, including the legs.
Pretty passive. Did not run away while examining it.
Room in barn had been dark, then I came down from upstairs and turned the lights on and saw it.
