Picture of unidentified spider

Comments & ID Thoughts

I was guessing this was a black widow but there is no red on him or her unless it’s on the underside of the belly and I couldn’t see it. This one was over an inch long also, so a lot bigger than any others I have seen. It came from an area of shrubs and heavy leaves onto concrete.

The hourglass marking is on the underside of their abdomens but yes this a fully mature female Black Widow (Latrodectus mactans).
