I think she’s Eriophora ravilla, a Tropical Orbweaver. She can bite in self-defense, but she isn’t dangerous to people. During daylight hours she’ll probably find a place to hide and rest unless it is very cloudy. No dangerous spiders make webs in that shape, though the web design is used in Halloween decorations. The kids can be taught that holding a spider too tightly or pressing their skin against a spider causes it to feel pain and be scared of being trapped.
