Visiting an Airbnb in Hilo Hawaii doing some anal gardening gardening because I can’t see weeds even on vacation I saw the spider in some oyster plants adjacent to the road got a quick picture of it it to me it I am pretty certain it was not an orb weaver but it was odd looking for me something between” a “normal” shape spider and a Linx spider Having a somewhat elongate abdomen

  • Location: I am pretty certain it was not an orb weaver but it was odd looking for me something between” a normal shape spider and a link spider unfortunately I am in Fpl just a herpetologist I’m learning spiders because in Hawaii they’re so rare I know I can contribute and help your database I’m very good at finding very rare animals, Hawaii, United States

Hi, thanks for the photo! And yes what’s with the lack of spider diversity in Hawaii? Totally understand about “anal gardening”, I can’t walk down any road without pulling some weeds. I know it looks weird, but don’t people realize that it looks even more weird it you’re a Main St business with trees growing up through your evergreen hedges?! I know invitations to garden parties are really a pathway to become socially inappropriate. “Hey ladies, there’s an awesome huge spider on your evil invasive plants!” That said, I don’t know what spider it is, guess we’ve all been hoping… Read more »
