Picture of unidentified spider

Comments & ID Thoughts

Deep inside a cave in Krabi province Thailand. Spider was on the floor of the cave, there were some cave crickets around but hardly enough to sustain such a large size. Wondering maybe if they consume snails as well? As there were a lot of empty shells around. Guess Giants huntsman?

This does appear to be a huntsman, although I’m not entirely sure what type. Most large spiders do not eat very often, typically once or twice a month. Based on the well developed eyes, this spider likely ventures out of the cave to hunt at night. Nice find!

It’s beautiful! Perhaps genus Eusparassus? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eusparassus

I think the original poster may have gotten it right. I’m not familiar with these species but it does certainly seem to match with picture and videos of the longest leg span spider on Earth, Heteropoda maxima. At the very least it could be another subspecies or another species from the same genus.
