Picture of unidentified spider

Comments & ID Thoughts

**First I want to clarify in case it effects the ability to id. The spider in this picture is dead. I'm unsure whether it makes a difference or possibly nullifies any possibility of conclusive identification. That being said,

I spotted this one in my garage yesterday. I've seen many spiders around and about, but this is one I can say with confidence, that I'VE not seen before. What caught my attention is that it almost looks metallic
Like it's upper body/torso area ⁸ is the color of brass lol then that black furry abdomen on which you can see, A circle of black shiny spots, bumps, eyes?? I honestly don't know. Which brought me here. To the fine people of spiderid.com to ask for some help identifying this mysterious little black on brass and "beadazzled"little guy.
It's about 3/4 - 1" in length. And as stated above, a most notable feature is its very shiny metallic appearance on all of its up legs and torso/upper body and a black furry looking abdomen with a Lg circle of raised shiny spots/bumps, also black. And Im fairly certain it's head is pis black as well.

Interesting that you used the word “metallic” to describe the spider. This is a Hacklemesh Weaver known as Metaltella simoni.
