Comments & ID Thoughts

I have noticed this types of spider in my apartment.
The spider does not seem to form web. However they seem to move about the apartment to hunt for prey.

Googling spider pictures I would guess that this is either wolf or armed spider. But I am not an expert, so please help me out here :)

These spiders are referred to as False Wolf Spiders here in USA. They appear very similar to Wolf Spiders but are in a different family, Zoropsidae. As for the species, there are several species near you however I am not that familiar with this spiders genus, Zoropsis. Maybe could give you some more insight into the spider’s exact species if you’re still curious.

thank you for tagging me on this one.Yes, you’re correct about the family and I think it’s safe to go with Zoropsis spinimana (a male) as no other Zoropsidae is known from Slovenia. Z.oertzeni occurs in some neighbouring countries, but I’m inclined to rule out this species based on general appearances. Speaking more in general, the genus Zoropsis is the only representative of the family you can get from Europe 🙂
