Comments & ID Thoughts

I know it's not a Spider. This is a Woodlouse. They are Isopods > suborder Oniscidea. This one is in the spherical defensive posture. These are the arthropods that Woodlouse Hunter Spiders, Dysdera crocata have specialized fangs for. I'm submitting my photo to use as my photo reference for discussing D. crocata.

This is not a spider, it is a crustacean called a roly poly…they are very good for the environment as they help clean dirt.

That is so cool there is a spider with special fangs for these arthropods! It would be cool to see a photo of one in action!
