Picture of unidentified spider

Comments & ID Thoughts

I am honestly not sure what type of spider this is. I found it in my basement (a relatively wet basement) along with hundreds of spider egg sacs. It looks different than the type of spiders I seen outside my house, and the ones on the main level of my house.

Steatoda triangulosa. This is a Triangulate Cobweaver. They are good household spiders. Mine are only upstairs eating insects. They try to avoid being seen in light and hunt in enclosed areas, like under a cupboard, mostly. They eat mostly flies and moths, but will eat the big bugs too. Your upstairs spiders are probably Cellar Spiders. Your photo came out very well.
