Comments & ID Thoughts
Does anyone know what species of salticidae this spider is? I have never seen this species before and I would love to learn more about it! It’s very small, about the size of an adult zebra jumping spider. I found it on my outdoor bench and captured it in one of my spare spider enclosures to take some better pictures. So it’s on a fake flower in this photo. I can upload a front facing photo if necessary for ID, thanks!

Is it a marpissa grata? Or another species in the marpissa genus?

It isn’t comprehensive for all locations species are found, but it is an attempt to be comprehensive for all identified species in the World. Someone put most of the WSC into the appropriate Wikipedia articles, that’s another way to look it up. BugGuide.net has all of the North American Species too. Your spider has an interesting head shape. A photo from the front that… Read more »

It was actually on that website that I found one that looks like the same species, so that’s where I got the impression it may be a marpissa grata! And the sighting on there was in my state, here’s the one I saw on there! https://bugguide.net/node/view/558950
I’ll upload a pic of the eyes! They are in salticidae arrangement!
